Upon returning from Ethiopia yesterday Joel and I fell into a coma for several hours. Ok, not a real coma, but we slept all afternoon perhaps because of the altitude change or heat or humidity. While in the coma we dreamed of Ethiopia and all the wonderful food, coffee, and people we met there. It was, indeed, a week of renewal and rest.
Today we have felt like normal humans again and are preparing for the coming weeks. This weekend will be the ordination of a local man into the priesthood. This celebration will be the event of the year and months of planning have gone into it. We are planning to be interested observers. I am getting ready for a two-week Leadership and Peacebuilding Workshop for Women starting next week. Joel is also planning a trip to the prison, exploring possibilities of lectures at the local university, and a trip out to one of the parishes.
